What is ABAN?

ABAN is a boot CD/USB stick that provides a secure and efficient method for wiping all the disks in a computer. Designed to operate independently of the host operating system, ABAN can be used on machines with or without an installed OS. The disk wiping process utilizes a cryptographic Pseudo-Random Number Generator to write random bytes across the entirety of the storage media, ensuring a comprehensive and tamper-proof erasure

Highlights

  • Boot disk support for both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures
  • Automated disk wiping process without reliance on the host OS
  • Utilization of a cryptographic PRNG for random data writes
  • Planned support for ATA SANITIZE and Secure Erase commands to fully address SSD storage
  • Ability to erase multiple servers in succession by booting each machine from the same bootable media
  • Hands-free operation enabled by PC speaker audio cues, eliminating the need for a monitor or keyboard
