What is AWS Directory Service?
AWS Directory Service enables the setup and management of Microsoft Active Directory (AD) environments within the AWS cloud. This service allows organizations to connect their existing on-premises AD with AWS resources, facilitating centralized user and group management, single sign-on (SSO) access to applications and services, group policy enforcement, and seamless domain-joining of Amazon EC2 instances. AWS Directory Service simplifies the deployment and administration of cloud-based Linux and Windows workloads by providing a familiar AD environment that IT teams can leverage to govern access and policies across both on-premises and cloud-hosted resources
