What is Azure Traffic Manager?
Azure Traffic Manager is a cloud-based DNS load balancing service that helps route incoming traffic for high-performance and availability with automatic failover. It allows businesses to control the distribution of user traffic for service endpoints in different datacenters, increasing application responsiveness by leveraging performance routing and enabling the combination of on-site and cloud systems. Azure Traffic Manager offers various types of DNS-based traffic routing, including priority, performance, geographic, weighted round-robin, subnet, and multi-value, and uses the geographic routing method to help with business geofencing needs. The service monitors Azure Services or external websites and services to improve the availability of essential apps, directing users to another location when there is a system failure.
