What is BiglyBT?

BiglyBT is a feature-rich, open-source BitTorrent client based on the Azureus open-source project, formerly known as Vuze. This powerful application offers a wide range of functionalities to enhance the torrent download experience. One of its standout features is the ability to merge swarms across torrents that share common files, automatically detecting similar files and merging the download processes to increase speed and potentially fix incomplete torrents. BiglyBT also includes robust rate-limiting capabilities, allowing users to control download and upload rates globally, by individual torrent, tag, peer-set, or even specific peers. The client supports web torrent, providing seamless integration with the emerging web-based torrent technology. Additionally, BiglyBT offers remote control functionality through an Android application, enabling users to manage their downloads on-the-go. The application also features tagging and categorization tools, RSS feed subscriptions, and the ability to view ratings and comments before adding torrents. For enhanced privacy and security, BiglyBT integrates support for decentralized public and anonymous chat, VPN detection, I2P, and Tor proxy for search results, subscriptions, and browser connections. Beyond just torrent management, BiglyBT also offers media playback and conversion capabilities, as well as UPnP Media Server and DLNA support for effortless media sharing across devices
