What is BookWyrm?

BookWyrm is a social network that allows users to track their reading, discuss books, write reviews, and discover new titles. Leveraging the decentralized ActivityPub protocol, BookWyrm enables users to join small, trusted communities that can connect with one another, as well as with other ActivityPub-based services like Mastodon and Pleroma. Users can update their reading progress, set reading goals, and see what their friends are currently reading. Recommendations come directly from the community, rather than algorithms, allowing users to discover new books based on trusted opinions from their peers. BookWyrm's flexible sharing options let users write detailed reviews or post casual commentary, controlling the visibility of their content with granular privacy settings
