What is Cdw?
cdw is a versatile ncurses-based front-end for a collection of essential command-line tools used for optical media management and manipulation. Leveraging the ncurses library, it provides a user-friendly interface that can be accessed directly within a UNIX terminal window or a terminal emulator, such as konsole, xterm, rxvt, or gnome-terminal, in an X Window environment. Despite its command-line orientation, cdw simplifies the usage of powerful tools like cdrecord/wodim, mkisofs/genisoimage, growisofs, dvd+rw-mediainfo, dvd+rw-format, and xorriso, making them more accessible to a wider range of users. While cdw primarily supports the ISO9660 filesystem for optical media, it does not recognize or work with other filesystem types for optical discs
