What is ChessCoach?
A neural network-based chess engine capable of natural language commentary, ChessCoach plays chess at an impressive Elo rating of approximately 3450, surpassing the skill level of even the strongest human players at 2850 Elo and many other chess engines. Unlike classical engines that prioritize speed with a basic evaluation, or more recent NNUE hybrids, ChessCoach relies on a large, slow neural network to assess millions of chess positions and determine the optimal move, similar to the approaches used by AlphaZero and Leela Chess Zero. In addition to its powerful chess playing capabilities, ChessCoach also offers the unique feature of providing natural language commentary during gameplay, providing users with insights and analysis in an accessible, human-like manner
