What is Chromely?
Chromely is a .NET/.NET Core HTML5 Chromium desktop framework that enables developers to build single-page application (SPA) HTML5 desktop apps with or without Node/npm. It serves as a lightweight alternative to Electron.NET and Electron for .NET/.NET Core developers. Chromely is focused on building apps based on Xilium.CefGlue and CefSharp implementations of embedded Chromium (CEF) without relying on WinForms or WPF, although it can be extended to use these frameworks. The framework utilizes Windows, Linux, and macOS native GUI APIs as "thin" Chromium hosts, allowing developers to create cross-platform desktop applications. Building SPA apps using popular JavaScript frameworks like Angular, React, or Vue is made easy with Chromely, and developers can use their preferred IDE, such as Visual Studio Code, as long as Chromely is configured to know the entry HTML file from the compiled or bundled files
