What is CipherShed?

CipherShed is a comprehensive encryption software program that enables users to create and manage secure, encrypted files and drives. Derived from the discontinued TrueCrypt project, CipherShed provides a straightforward, wizard-driven interface that guides users through the process of encrypting entire storage volumes, including USB flash drives and external hard disk drives. Once an encrypted volume is created, it is seamlessly mounted as a regular disk that can be read from and written to transparently, with the encryption process remaining invisible to the operating system and applications. This allows users to store and transport sensitive data with a high level of security, while retaining full compatibility for moving encrypted volumes between different platforms, such as Windows and macOS
