What is CompPad?

CompPad is an extension for the OpenOffice suite that enables users to conduct live mathematical and engineering calculations directly within a Writer document. This allows calculations and their supporting work to be seamlessly integrated and documented using the full range of OpenOffice's features and capabilities. While CompPad shares some functional similarities with the commercial Mathcad software, it is not intended as a direct clone.
