What is Dark Room?

Dark Room is a full-screen, distraction-free writing environment that focuses solely on the user and their text, unlike standard word processors that prioritize features. Inspired by the original WriteRoom, an exclusive OS X (Tiger) application, Dark Room aims to bring a similar writing experience to Windows users who lacked viable alternatives. While it is possible to emulate the behavior of WriteRoom in other word processors or text editors, the process can be cumbersome and the resulting experience may not be as seamless. Dark Room's goal is to capture the essence of WriteRoom, providing a simple and free writing environment that facilitates focused, uninterrupted writing
