What is DiskCryptor?

DiskCryptor is a comprehensive open-source utility that enables the encryption of all disk partitions, including the system partition. Initially designed as an alternative to DriveCrypt Plus Pack and PGP Whole Disk Encryption (WDE), DiskCryptor aims to provide the best solution in its category. The project's encryption format was initially compatible with TrueCrypt, utilizing the AES-256 algorithm in LRW mode, but starting from version 0.5, DiskCryptor has introduced a different format that allows for the encryption of partitions with existing data, unlike TrueCrypt which could only create empty volumes
