What is dwm?
dwm is a dynamic window manager for X that offers flexible window management options. It supports tiled, monocle, and floating layouts, which can be applied dynamically to optimize the environment for the current application and task. In the tiled layout, windows are managed in a master area and a stacking area, with the master area containing the window that currently needs the most attention. The monocle layout maximizes all windows to the screen size, while the floating layout allows windows to be freely resized and moved. Dialog windows are always managed in the floating layout, regardless of the overall layout Windows are grouped by tags, and each window can be assigned one or multiple tags. Selecting certain tags displays all windows with those tags. Each screen contains a small status bar that displays information such as available tags, the current layout, the number of visible windows, the title of the focused window, and the text read from the root window name property if the screen is focused. The status bar also indicates the state of windows, with floating windows shown as empty squares and maximized floating windows shown as filled squares
