What is Falkon?

Falkon is a cross-platform web browser based on the QtWebEngine framework. It aims to provide a lightweight browsing experience across major operating systems. The browser includes standard features such as bookmarks, history, and tabs, and also offers a built-in ad-blocking plugin by default. During the Akademy 2017 conference, the former maintainer of Konqueror, David Faure, proposed integrating Falkon (then known as QupZilla) into the KDE ecosystem to replace the aging Konqueror browser, citing Falkon's more advanced web browsing capabilities and the lack of active development in Konqueror
