What is File Lock PEA?

File Lock PEA offers platform-independent password-based authenticated encryption of files and folders. Utilizing Java, the program runs on a wide range of systems without the need for installation, requiring only a Java Runtime Environment which is commonly pre-installed. The application enables users to download from and upload files to the cloud, employing authenticated encryption to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the data. It leverages memory-hard key derivation functions to protect against custom hardware attacks. Additionally, users can implement a secondary factor alongside the password, further securing their data with a key file. While not intended to replace disk encryption, File Lock PEA is designed to handle multiple files or folders, though it may not be suitable for large data volumes
