What is Freecycle (audio)?
Freecycle is a beat slicer application designed for the GNU/Linux operating system, utilizing the QT toolkit to provide users with amplitude domain and frequency domain beat matching as well as zero-crossing algorithms. The application enables users to export sliced audio chunks and generate a MIDI file, which can then be used to play the sliced loop or integrated into a MIDI keyboard or sequencer for live jamming sessions. Freecycle also supports the export of AKAI S5000/S6000/Z4/Z8 .AKP files, SoundFont files, and the ability to drag and drop slices within the application or to and from external sources. Furthermore, Freecycle offers the capability to process audio inline using LADSPA effects and apply envelopes to individual slices
