It is released under the GNU General Public License and its architecture is largely inspired by Java. Gambas comprises a compiler, an interpreter, an archiver, a scripter, a development environment, and many extension components. This versatile platform enables users to create a wide range of applications, from simple scripts to complex programs, leveraging its object-oriented programming capabilities and extensive set of built-in functions and libraries
