What is Gecko?
Gecko is the layout engine developed by the Mozilla Project to render web content, including HTML, CSS, XUL, and JavaScript, on the user's screen or for printing. In XUL-based applications, Gecko also renders the user interface of the application. Gecko is utilized in numerous applications, such as the Firefox and SeaMonkey browsers, and products using the same version of Gecko share identical support for web standards
