What is GeneRally?

GeneRally is a free top-down 3D racing game originally developed by brothers Hannu and Jukka Rbin from Finland. Inspired by classic arcade racers like Super Sprint and Slicks 'N' Slide, the game features a minimalist, retro-style presentation that belies its surprisingly robust mechanics. Up to six cars, controlled by either human players or AI opponents, can race simultaneously on a variety of customizable tracks. The game physics are forgiving, making it easy for players to pick up and play, but also incorporate advanced features like a damage model, tire wear, and fuel consumption - elements often absent from the arcade racing genre, even in commercial titles. Players can compete in time trials, single races, or full racing championships, with the ability to fine-tune the AI difficulty for each individual opponent. While GeneRally lacks online or LAN play, it supports local multiplayer with up to six players sharing the same computer and input devices
