What is GOCR?

The GOCR software is an open-source Optical Character Recognition (OCR) tool that converts scanned images of text into editable text files. Initiated by Joerg Schulenburg, the program is now developed and maintained by a team of contributors. GOCR's modular design allows it to be integrated with various front-end interfaces, facilitating its portability across different operating systems and hardware architectures.
