What is HashCheck Shell Extension?
The HashCheck Shell Extension seamlessly integrates file-integrity verification capabilities into the Windows operating system. Users can easily calculate and validate checksums and hashes for files directly from the Windows Explorer interface, leveraging CRC-32, MD5, SHA-1, SHA-2, and SHA-3 algorithms. Beyond the built-in checksum generation, the tool also supports creating and verifying SFV files and other checksum file formats, such as .md5. Designed with efficiency in mind, HashCheck maintains a lightweight disk and memory footprint, ensuring a smooth user experience. Originally developed by Kai Liu, the open-source project has been actively maintained and enhanced by contributors like Christopher Gurnee and Mounir Idrassi
