What is HD Tach?
HD Tach is a hardware benchmark tool designed to measure the performance of random access storage devices, including hard drives, removable drives, flash devices, and RAID arrays. The application leverages custom device drivers and low-level Windows interfaces to bypass software layers and assess the physical performance of the storage device. The trial version of HD Tach evaluates sequential read speed at various points on the device, random access speed, interface burst speed, and CPU utilization. The registered version further adds sequential write testing capabilities
Highlights
