What is HomeNet Local Media Server?

A minimalist, lightweight media center for your Windows Local Area Network (LAN), HomeNet is a simple alternative to more complex UPnP/DLNA media servers like Plex. HomeNet LMS leverages the VLC "transcode anything" plugin to enable playback of almost any media file or radio/video stream directly in your web browser, without the need for thumbnails, categories, or other distractions. The application presents your local media files using efficient nested text-based directory listings, providing a streamlined user experience To set up HomeNet, you download a ZIP file that extracts a single homenet directory, containing the Civetweb Server, PHP software, and HomeNet web files. To start the web server, you simply click on civetweb64.exe or civetweb32.exe
