What is Hostsblock?

Hostsblock is a powerful bash script for Linux that leverages the system's HOSTS file to provide comprehensive blocking of internet advertisements, malicious domains, trackers, and other undesirable content. The script downloads and processes a configurable set of blocklists, consolidating their entries into a single, effective HOSTS file. Additionally, Hostsblock includes a command-line utility called hostsblock-urlcheck, which allows users to selectively block and unblock specific websites and domains as needed, complementing the included blocklists
