What is Into the Breach?

Into the Breach is a turn-based strategy video game that challenges players to prevent the remnants of human civilization from being destroyed by gigantic creatures breeding beneath the earth. Set in the far future, the game pits players against an army of giant monsters known as the Vek, which they must combat using powerful mechs from the future. The game features a unique turn-based combat system that allows players to coordinate the actions of their team in response to enemy moves and actions, which are telegraphed to the player. In each combat scenario, players control three different mechs and must complete a specific objective within a fixed number of turns, all while protecting civilian structures that power the mechs. The Vek forces will move across the board and attack, and players must strategically maneuver their mechs to defeat the Vek, push them off their line of attack, avoid their attacks, intercept newly spawning Vek, or protect the civilian structures. Mechs can only withstand a limited amount of damage before becoming inoperable, but players can have a mech idle a turn to repair some of the damage. Pilots of mechs that defeat a Vek gain experience points, which can be used to unlock new skills
