What is Jellyfin?

Jellyfin is a personal media server and client that provides users with a platform to manage and stream their media content. The project was initiated as a result of diverging philosophies between the Emby developers and the core Jellyfin team, leading to Jellyfin's emergence as a free software alternative to Emby and Plex. Jellyfin is built upon the .NET Core framework and is descended from Emby 3.5.2, offering cross-platform compatibility and the ability to build for a wide range of devices
