What is KornShell?
The KornShell is an interactive command language that provides access to the UNIX system and many other systems, on the diverse array of computers and workstations where it is implemented. Designed and developed by David G. Korn at AT&T Bell Laboratories, the KornShell serves as a complete, high-level programming language for building applications, often more efficiently and concisely than with other high-level languages. This makes the KornShell particularly suitable for prototyping. Compared to the widely used Bourne shell and C shell, the KornShell integrates the best features of both while introducing numerous additional capabilities of its own, enhancing user productivity and the quality of their work, both in system interaction and programming
