What is Link Shell Extension?
Link Shell Extension (LSE) is a powerful tool that allows users to create various types of links, including Hardlinks, Junctions, Volume Mountpoints, and Vistas Symbolic Links, collectively referred to as "Links." Additionally, LSE provides a Folder Cloning process that utilizes Hardlinks or Symbolic Links. LSE is implemented as a Shell extension and can be accessed directly from Windows Explorer or similar file/folder managers. Users can select one or more files or folders, then use the mouse to complete the creation of the desired Links or Clones. LSE is supported on all Windows versions that support NTFS version 5.0 or later, including Windows XP64, Vista, and Windows7. However, it is important to note that Hardlinks, Junctions, and Symbolic Links are not supported on FAT file systems, and the Cloning and Smartcopy process is also not supported on FAT file systems
