What is LoudLab?
LoudLAB is an audio application designed to monitor and control loudness levels. It can measure long-term, short-term, and momentary loudness, Loudness Range (LRA), and True-Peaks (EBU R 128, ITU-R BS.1770) of audio files and real-time audio. The application includes an innovative Loudness Range Compression System, based on psychoacoustic principles, to control loudness levels. LoudLAB features a "Loudness Distribution" graph, which provides a comprehensive analysis of the results of compression on both the input and output signals. Furthermore, the application offers an array of precision tools, including dithering, DC removal, linear-phase "Brick Wall" filters, and an automation system, to improve the final audio product. LoudLAB supports various audio file formats, such as WAVE, AIFF, FLAC, NeXT/Sun, and MP3, and can export WAVE, AIFF, and NeXT/Sun files in different bit depths. The application can also be used on real-time audio signals, with the option to record the output to disk
