What is MidiKeys?

MidiKeys is a compact MIDI keyboard application designed for Mac OS X users. It displays an onscreen miniature MIDI keyboard, allowing users to play MIDI notes either through the computer keyboard or by clicking on the keys with the mouse. The application also provides the capability to select a MIDI source and view incoming notes played on the keyboard. While MidiKeys does not have the ability to generate sound on its own, it can be connected to a synthesizer, whether a software-based or hardware-based one, to enable audio playback. To facilitate this, the application integrates well with Apple's AU Lab for playing Audio Units. It's important to note that MidiKeys requires Mac OS X 10.5 or later to function
