What is MINIX 3?

MINIX 3 is a free, open-source operating system designed to be highly reliable, flexible, and secure. It is a POSIX-compliant Unix-like operating system based on a microkernel architecture, with the majority of the operating system running as isolated, protected processes in user mode. MINIX 3 runs on both x86 and ARM CPUs and is compatible with NetBSD, allowing it to leverage thousands of pre-existing software packages
