What is Mozilla Pontoon?
Pontoon is a translation management system that caters to the needs of the Mozilla localization community. It specializes in open-source localization, where the community drives the translation process and utilizes version-control systems for storing translations. Pontoon can handle a wide range of file formats, including .dtd, .ftl (Fluent), .inc, .ini, .json (WebExtensions), .lang, .po (Gettext), .properties, .xliff, and .xml (Android). The system can pull the strings it needs to translate from external sources, such as version control repositories, and write the translated content back periodically. Supported external sources include Git, Mercurial, and Subversion
