What is Nightmare Creatures?
Nightmare Creatures, a survival horror video game, transports players to a sinister 19th-century London plagued by the malevolent schemes of a devil-worshipping cult known as the Brotherhood of Hecate. Developed by Kalisto Entertainment and published by Activision, the game was first released for the PlayStation and PC in 1997, followed by a North America exclusive version for the Nintendo 64 in 1998 The game's narrative is rooted in the gothic horror tropes of the era, unfolding a tale of the Brotherhood's attempts to seize control of London, and ultimately the world. In 1666, the cult conducted a series of disturbing experiments, aiming to create an elixir that would grant them superhuman powers. However, their efforts backfired, leading to the creation of grotesque monsters instead of the intended superhumans. When one of the Brotherhood members, Samuel Pepys, set their headquarters ablaze, the resulting fire became the First Great Fire of London The game's events take place in 1834, as London falls victim to a host of sinister occurrences. Monstrous sightings and reports of people mutating into inhuman creatures, along with the dead rising from their graves, have plunged the city into a state of panic and vulnerability. At the center of this chaos stands Adam Crowley, a mad scientist and occultist, who seeks to harness the power of the Brotherhood's legacy to execute his own nefarious plans
