What is NoScript?

NoScript is a Firefox extension that provides enhanced security and protection against various web-based attacks. It allows users to selectively enable or disable the execution of active content, such as JavaScript, Java, and Flash, on websites they visit. By default, NoScript blocks these types of content from running, ensuring that users are protected from potential threats like cross-site scripting (XSS) and clickjacking attacks. The extension's unique whitelist-based approach enables users to create a list of trusted websites where they can safely allow active content to execute. This pre-emptive script blocking mechanism helps prevent the exploitation of known and even unknown security vulnerabilities without compromising the functionality of the websites users rely on. Users can easily manage which sites are trusted and which are blocked through the NoScript status bar icon or the contextual menu, making it convenient to control the execution of active content, especially in popup windows without a status bar
