What is Notational Velocity?

Notational Velocity is a note-taking app for Mac OS X that prioritizes keyboard-driven functionality and seamless data management. At its core, the app enables users to instantly search through their entire note collection with each keystroke, without relying on a mouse or separate search actions. All content created in Notational Velocity is automatically compressed and encrypted (optionally) before being saved to disk, ensuring the security and efficiency of the user's notes. Furthermore, the app forgoes traditional interface elements like buttons, as its window design is optimized for focused keyboard input. Notational Velocity also offers flexible synchronization options, allowing users to sync their notes with Simplenote or share them via Dropbox with a range of compatible iOS apps, such as PlainText, Elements, and iA Writer
