What is OneGet?
OneGet is a unified interface that provides a common set of cmdlets for managing software discovery, installation, and inventory across various underlying package management systems. Regardless of the installation technology used, users can leverage these shared cmdlets to install and uninstall packages, add, remove, and query package repositories, as well as assess the software installed on a system. This CTP release includes a prototype implementation of a Chocolatey-compatible package manager capable of installing existing Chocolatey packages. With OneGet, users can manage a list of software repositories to search, acquire, and install packages from, as well as seamlessly install and uninstall packages from one or more repositories using a single PowerShell command. Standalone builds will be published once the source code is made available
