What is OruxMaps?

OruxMaps is a comprehensive map viewer and track logger for Android devices that supports both online and offline functionality. It caters to a wide range of outdoor activities, including running, trekking, mountain biking, paragliding, flying, and nautical sports. The app offers an online map viewer, allowing users to cache tiles for offline use, and the ability to create offline maps from online sources. Users can build composite maps from various online map sources, adjusting transparency levels as needed. OruxMaps also supports WMS online maps, as well as offline map formats such as Mapsforge vectorial maps, .rmap, partial Garmin vectorial maps, .mbtiles, and .ozf2 The app provides a robust offline map viewer, utilizing maps calibrated with OruxMaps Desktop or MOBAC (Manuals and download section). Users can save their tracks, waypoints, and points of interest, and even add photos, videos, and audio recordings to their waypoints. OruxMaps supports external GPS and Bluetooth devices, including heart rate monitors and ANT+ sensors for cadence, speed, heart rate, steps, and temperature. The app also offers features like map rotation, export of tracks to various formats (GPX, KML, and KMZ), and import/analysis of tracks from these formats OruxMaps integrates with various online platforms, allowing users to upload and download tracks from services like Everytrail.com, MapMyTracks.com, gpsies.com, trainingstagebuch.org, ikimap.com, wikirutas.es, and openxplora.com. Additionally, the app can connect with AIS devices using WiFi, Bluetooth, or USB, and enables users to share their position with others
