What is Oxe FM Synth?

Oxe FM Synth is an open source VST 2.4 instrument plugin available for Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X. It is a touch-sensitive, real-time polyphonic FM-based music synthesizer created and maintained by Oxe Software. The synth offers a range of advanced features, including multitimbral support with 16 MIDI channels, 8 operators with individual envelopes (6 oscillators, 1 noise generator/limiter, and 1 filter), and 1 LFO per channel. It also provides a frequency modulation half-matrix with self-modulation, as well as global reverb and delay effects. Notably, the synth is designed to deliver great performance even on low-resource systems, and it includes a substantial library of high-quality preset patches. Additionally, Oxe FM Synth supports external skin customization, allowing users to personalize its visual appearance
