What is Patreon?

Patreon is a membership platform that enables creators across diverse mediums, including musicians, podcasters, video game developers, comic artists, and many others, to establish recurring monthly revenue and expand their careers as content creators. Launched in 2013 by YouTube musician Jack Conte and his college roommate Sam Yam, Patreon now supports over 100,000 creators in receiving millions of dollars every month from their dedicated fan bases. By providing a means for fans to directly fund their favorite creators through ongoing monthly patronage, Patreon allows these creators to dedicate more time to engaging with their audiences and consistently producing the content their followers enjoy
