What is Piano Companion?
Piano Companion is a comprehensive music theory app designed for songwriters, producers, teachers, and students. It provides a flexible piano chord and scale dictionary, allowing users to easily find and explore various musical elements. The app features user libraries, reverse mode, a circle of fifths, and a chord progression builder with common patterns. Users can search for piano chords and scales by key or using an external MIDI keyboard, with the app displaying the corresponding chord or scale on the grand staff, along with information about degrees, relative scales, intervals, and fingering for both hands in major and minor scales. The app also enables users to contribute their own custom fingering. Additionally, users can practice scales in different keys and clefs, as well as practice progressions, with the ability to listen to how a scale or chord sounds in a loop or arpeggio.
