What is Pithos?

Pithos is a desktop application designed to provide a comprehensive Pandora listening experience for users of the GNOME desktop environment. Leveraging the libpiano backend used by the command-line Pianobar client, Pithos aims to deliver a more integrated and user-friendly Pandora experience compared to the official Flash-based client or the terminal-based Pianobar. Unlike the official client, which is known to be resource-intensive, Pithos is optimized to minimize CPU usage while still delivering the full functionality of the Pandora service. Furthermore, Pithos seamlessly integrates with the GNOME desktop, offering features such as support for media keys and on-screen song notifications, enhancing the overall listening experience for users
