What is Plus42?
Plus42 is an advanced scientific programmable calculator that builds upon the acclaimed Free42 software. Free42 is a comprehensive re-implementation of the iconic HP-42S scientific programmable RPN calculator, originally produced by Hewlett-Packard from 1988 to 1995. Plus42 retains the core functionality of Free42 while expanding its capabilities with a range of powerful features. It includes algebraic expressions modeled after the HP-27S and HP-17B/19B calculators, allowing for intuitive data input. Additionally, Plus42 introduces attached units and unit conversions similar to the HP-48/49/50 series, enabling seamless handling of measurements. For improved organization, the calculator offers directories for storing programs and variables. Its display has been enlarged to 8 rows and 22 columns (131x64 pixels), providing ample workspace that the user can resize as needed. Furthermore, Plus42 incorporates time value of money and amortization schedule functions, as well as advanced two-dimensional plotting of functions with the ability to zoom, pan, and find integrals and roots from points in the plot
