What is Potlatch?

Potlatch is a powerful desktop application for editing OpenStreetMap data. The current version 3.0 runs as a native desktop application on Mac and Windows platforms, replacing earlier browser-based versions that relied on Adobe Flash. Potlatch combines an efficient user interface with intuitive presentation, enabling users to quickly perform common mapping tasks through a concise set of keyboard shortcuts. Users can efficiently navigate the map, modify node positions, and apply predefined tag sets with minimal effort. While the software currently does not have reliable Linux support due to platform changes, it can reportedly be used on Linux systems through Wine. The development of Potlatch 3.0 was financially supported by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, ensuring the continued evolution of this popular OpenStreetMap editing tool
