What is Pure Data?

Pd, a real-time graphical programming environment, enables users to create and manipulate audio, video, and graphic content. As the third major branch of the patcher programming languages family stemming from Max, Pd was originally developed by Miller Puckette and collaborators at IRCAM. The core of Pd is maintained by Puckette with contributions from a wide community of developers, resulting in an open-source, multimedia-focused platform
