What is QuiteRSS?

A cross-platform RSS/Atom news feed reader built using Qt, offering a range of features for efficient news consumption. The application provides a flexible filtering system, allowing users to view new, unread, starred, or deleted news items. It supports user-defined filters and offers both automatic and manual proxy configuration. The feed import wizard simplifies the process of adding feeds, with the ability to search for the feed URL based on the site URL The app features an embedded browser powered by the Webkit core, enabling users to view news content directly within the application. Users can mark news items as starred, and the app automatically updates feeds on startup or on a customizable timer. It also includes an automatic cleanup function to manage news items upon application closure The application allows users to enable or disable image previews in news items, and provides the ability to quickly hide the feed tree for more comfortable viewing. News can be opened in separate tabs, and the app offers a quick news filter and search functionality within the built-in browser The application supports sound and/or popup notifications for new news, and displays a counter for new or unread news items on the tray icon. Users can minimize the app to the system tray on startup, close, or minimization. The app also supports importing and exporting feeds in OPML format, and is available as a portable application on Windows
