What is RAPID?
RapiD is a modified version of the popular OSM editing tool, iD editor, developed by Facebook as a way to add and edit map features generated by AI predictions. It was initially designed as a tool to add roads and has subsequently been used to add buildings as well. RapiD includes validation checks, in addition to those within iD, to detect potential errors. The tool suggests features, allowing the mapper to decide which ones to add to the map. Suggested features are displayed with a magenta color to differentiate them from other map features. A mapper can select a suggested feature and click "Use This Feature" to add it to the map. From there, the geometry and tags can be modified, and the feature can then be uploaded to OpenStreetMap (OSM). Only features that are accepted by a mapper are uploaded to OSM
