What is SAP MaxDB?

MaxDB is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that is ANSI SQL-92 (entry level) compliant, developed by SAP AG. From 2003 to 2007, it was also delivered by MySQL AB. The database is designed for large SAP environments, such as the mySAP Business Suite, and other applications that require enterprise-level database functionality. MaxDB is capable of handling terabyte-range data in continuous operation, making it suitable for organizations with substantial data storage and processing needs
