What is Smart Referer?
The smart referer extension automatically hides the referrer when changing domains, based on the same origin policy. It allows you to whitelist domains with wildcards and configure other settings through the addon preferences page. The extension offers a "Strict Mode" feature, which treats different subdomains as separate websites, preventing them from seeing each other's referrers. However, this often causes issues and provides little privacy improvement, so it is recommended to leave it disabled. The extension also provides an "Exceptions" feature, which allows you to specify source and destination hosts that should never have their referrers changed. Additionally, you can add "Whitelist Sources" to include additional whitelist rules. The "Rewrite Mode" can be used to change the referrer header sent to the server. If a website isn't working properly, you can try disabling the strict mode or adding an exception for the domain
