What is sshfs?

SSHFS is a file system client that allows users to mount a remote file system over a secure Shell (SSH) connection. This tool leverages the built-in SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) functionality of most SSH servers, eliminating the need for any additional server-side configuration. To use SSHFS, users simply need to log into the remote server using SSH, after which the remote file system can be seamlessly accessed as if it were a local storage volume. This provides a convenient and secure way to work with files stored on a remote system without the complexities typically associated with network file sharing
