What is TAK?

TAK is a lossless audio compressor that aims to combine efficient compression with fast decompression speeds. Similar to FLAC, WavPack, and Monkey's Audio, TAK typically reduces audio file sizes to around 50 of the original, with the compression ratio varying between 30-70 depending on the file. The decompression process restores a bit-identical copy of the original audio data, preserving the full quality. The author's goal was to develop a compressor that matches the compression efficiency of Monkey's Audio High while achieving decompression speeds comparable to FLAC
